Anibal Ollero, head of the GRVC and President of the Spanish Society for Research and Development in Robotics (SEIDROB) has signed an agreement with Satoshi Tadokoro, President of the IEEE Robotics & Automation Society (RAS) by which SEIDROB becomes Sister Society of IEEE-RAS.

The agreement, which is reported in the web of IEEE RAS (http://www.ieee-ras.org/), promotes becoming membership of both societies, cooperative activities relating to their publications, conferences, sessions and tracks in conferences, joint projects, publications, standards and educational material.

IEEE RAS is the most important society in the world devoted to Robotics and Automation, organizing or co-organizing every year 9 fully-sponsored conferences, 15 financially co-sponsored conferences, and 28 technically co-sponsored conferences and workshops. The three major RAS conferences organized every year with thousands of attendants are ICRA (International Conference on Robotics and Automation), CASE (International Conference on Automation Science and Engineering), and IROS (International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems).
